“FEAR”…

Fear is one of the most prevalent emotions we experience when we are hurting over our children. We fear we will never see them again, we fear they will never experience the joy of knowing the Lord, we fear for their safety and health, and the deepest fear of all is the fear that they will die because of the choices they are making.

We don’t know how to move away from the paralyzing fear that we have, but the Bible tells us in Psalm 34:4 that when we seek the Lord He will take away our fear. It says, “I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.” As we learn to trust Him with our kids and with our own emotions our negative and debilitating feelings start to disappear and we begin to have peace in our lives again.

Instead of allowing our children and their choices to have a stronghold on us, we must open ourselves up to God and let Him to be our stronghold. Meditate on these words from Psalm 27:1, “The Lord is my light and my salvation – whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life – of whom shall I be afraid?”

Ask God to be your stronghold today and allow Him to take away your fear.
